Matzah Matchup – What A Mitzvah!

FACTOR-IN/FACTOR-OUT™

We’ve scoured supermarkets and restaurants to find healthy FFactor™ approved food swaps for high-calorie favorites. Now you can satisfy your cravings without sabotaging your waistline.*

Passover liberation, alas!

Here at the F-Factor office, we are more than accustomed to eating our cardboard  crackers. All year long we take our bran crackers, doll them up with spreads and schmears and down them to ensure that we get our full fiber fix. The one time of year that this is a challenge is during Passover, when a different kind of cardboard takes our menu’s main stage. There’s no need to sugar-coat it (pun intended), matzo is much easier to get down than what we’re used to. But eating carbs without fiber makes going to the bathroom a “no can do,”—and that’s a big no-no for us.

So with Passover coming up, what’s a Jewish F-Factor Devotee to do? Factor-Out your standard unleavened bread and leaven your fiber intake by Factoring-In Osem High Fiber Israeli Matzah.*

Made from whole wheat flour, wheat bran, and water, Osem High Fiber Israeli Matzah is calorically similar to your standard matzos, but has an additional 7 grams of fiber per serving. Translation: it’s sure to keep things moving along in the way that you’re used to. Those 7 grams of fiber are also coupled with 4 grams of protein, which slows digestion so that you feel fuller longer (and thus are less likely to binge on those Kosher-for-Passover jelly candies that no one actually likes). The prize for finding the Afikomen this year? A flatter, sexy tummy. You’re welcome!

*Honorable mention to Yehuda Light Whole Wheat Bran Matzos and Jerusalem High Fiber Matzos, which are both excellent high-fiber matzah alternative, and perfectly fine to be used in place of Osem if you’re unable to locate it.
